“I rarely leave reviews but felt it was important to share my experience with Main Street Automotive. Late Saturday we were driving to Apple Hill and my daughters car started overheating. We had the car towed to Main Street Automotive. They were closed so we had to leave it. Since we lived about an hour away we were anxious to have to leave it in the parking lot but the tow truck driver pointed out the security cameras and that it was right across the street from the police station. We placed the key in an envelope with our contact information and were able to put it in the after hours door slot. First thing Monday I received a call Daniel. He was professional, reassuring and knowledgeable. They were able to squeeze the car in even though they were already so busy with scheduled appointments. Within a few hours, they had identified the problem and ordered the part. Daniel kept me informed every step of the way. I was so impressed with the honesty, the l evel of service provided and the customer service given that I wish I lived closer to bring all my cars to them. Although I don't wish for anyone to breakdown, if you're visiting this area and something does happen I highly recommend this business!”

“I'm writing this review for my owner, only seems right since I was the one who up close and personal with the guys at main street auto.they were gentle and explained everything they were doing. It all started with a check engine light, Diane my buddy didn't know where to go since we are new to the area. We have this rapport you see, she takes care of me and I take care of her. “I didn't get any work done, however, my timing belt broke on the way to Lake Tahoe and I was in Pollack Pines, I called Main Street Auto and the owner was so kind to let me tow my car onto his lot for no charge! I will never forget his act of kindness, he let me leave my car there to pick up a rental and drive to Modesto to pick my dad up to bring him back to repair my vehicle. It's so rare to find such people nowadays :)”

“We have had great service from Main Street Auto. Recently, when a huge pine cone decimated the front windshield of my truck, Main Street Auto got the windshield repaired and did an amazing job at getting all the shattered glass and pine sap out of my car interior and off the surface of the vehicle. They have also been great at fixing my partner's car and discussing various options for repairs.”

“Had an awesome experience here. Friendly and honest. My car was towed in on a Friday morning from Lake Tahoe, mechanic at breakdown location thought I might be looking at around $1500.00 repairs. After explaining to josh the issues it was thought I might have car back Tuesday or Wednesday. I received a call that afternoon, problem solved under $300 and my car finished less than 8 hours after they opened Friday AM.

Jeremy, the owner has owned numerous older cars, as does one of the mechanics, so they didn't flinch when I came in with my 1947 Ford pickup. Experts on Subarus, they can also cover almost anything from my ancient Chevy Pick up , an old Honda and my wife's pretty new Mazda.Their combined experience and knowledge makes short work of diagnostics and their fair pricing never makes you feel you've been ripped off like other Auto repair shops. The best in the Foothill area by far!”

“My car began playing up on a journey from the Bay Area to South Lake, made worse with two toddlers and round 100 degree temp outside. I stopped at Placerville and Jeremy's team kindly offered to take a look at it for me right away to see what the problem was and to see if I would be okay to continue up the mountain.
Firstly, their service couldn't have been quicker, they had the car up in the air in minutes.
My children and I ended up spending a couple of hours at Main Street Auto while I figured out logistics of rental car etc and Jeremy figured out what he needed to repair the car. His attention to us was admirable. He checked and double checked parts (this is not a car model he typically works on) and helped entertain my toddlers, who were over-heating and long expired. He even offered to fly me to South Lake himself!
Jeremy came to my rescue when no local rental cars were available and went above and beyond to make sure myself and my children got to our destination safely. His team repaired my car in the timescale predicted and the cost was very reasonable.
Jeremy and his team went above and beyond to ensure I had an excellent service experience. He gave a very honest service, could easily have charged me more and I felt I trusted him to only repair the car if the part was to his standards.”

“Jeremy and the team at Main Street Auto were the sole positive factor in an otherwise stressful travel experience. We visited Placerville over Thanksgiving and a previous repair done in Portland was completed improperly, resulting in destroyed wheel bearings. Jeremy worked with the Portland shop who did the initial repair wrong to determine next steps, was a calming voice in a frustrating week-long warranty service experience, and ultimately helped us find a part and (once we had the part) quickly made repairs to get back on the road just in time.”

“I was trapped with an overheating car in Placerville on a Saturday, and Jeremy was there to answer the phone and stuck around to help us out. He worked through some pretty difficult stuff to get my car back up and running so I could get back to San Francisco. He was great, very accommodating and fair. I've worked in the automotive industry for 16 years, and I can tell you that a trustworthy, fair and kind person is difficult to find these days. I would recommend Jeremy and Main Street Auto Repair to anyone - and not just because he's fair and trustworthy. The quality and care he took to make sure I made it all the way back to The City, and his insistence of quality (even when he probably just wanted to go home on a Saturday) put him at the top of the heap.

“I had a pre-purchase inspection done by Main Street Auto Repair and had a great experience. The car was inspected on time even with me having to change the appointment time for being late. Brian the mechanic was nice enough to let me go on the test drive he was really knowledgeable and gave me great feedback on the car. Friendly atmosphere and decent pricing.
